Admission to the Choristers of St Mary Magdalene
Prospective Choristers need not be fully-trained, nor play any musical instruments; we are simply looking for enthusiasm about singing and music, as well as a willingness to learn and develop skills that children will have for the rest of their lives. Choristers must be aged at least 8, with any gender welcome.
Admission to the choir at St Mary Magdalene can be done at any time of the year. New choristers are on probation initally whilst they get used to singing with their peers and the adult choir. During this time, the Junior Choristers participate in services along with the rest of the Choristers, as well as working through the RSCM Voice for Life scheme if they choose to do so. Once the Director of Music is satisfied with the progress a Junior Choirster has made, they then become full Choristers, thus obtaining their white surplice.
If you would like to get involved please get in touch with the Director of Music for more information.
For further information, please refer to either the Choristers page in the About section, or get in touch with the Director of Music, Alexander Knight (firstname.lastname@example.org) who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
